That I may yet end up a broken old man living in a cardboard box over a heating grate remains within the realm of possibility. It's just too early to tell... too close to call.

While I wait to see how it all comes out, I teach science to college art students, geologize, look for stories, and immerse myself in raising a dog, a daughter, a wife and 200+ bonsai trees. The trees are the easy part.

I'm still trying to learn to hit a tennis ball. I mean REALLY hit a tennis ball - step into it, catch it on the rise, power through it and drive it over the net. Unfortunately, the closer I get, the more my center of gravity continues to change.

It remains elusive.
